Reference Point for Aeronautical Information

ATRAK–AIM is ATRAK’s Aeronautical Information Management system that is designed in line with ICAO’s roadmap for transition from AIS to AIM. Its modular design gives you the flexibility to meet your specific requirements of today while allowing for further enhancement and expansion for the requirements of tomorrow. It can achieve the goal of having “message-centric” aeronautical information and “data-centric” aeronautical packages in an integrated solution, whilst distributing the data on a larger scale and increased speed.

ATRAK-AIM services cover preparation, processing and handling of dynamic data (weather and other conditions that impact flight planning and operations) and static data (covering the location and character of navigation aids, distributions the physical characteristics of airports and geography).

The key features of the system are:

  • Digital – ICAO compliant message templates for message creation. Information is provided in an adequate digital format thereby facilitating the manipulation, management, dissemination and graphical rendering of the information.
  • Integratable – information is based upon open standards that provide global definitions for information domains, information models, information exchange
  • Graphical – Geographical visualisation of NOTAMS, FPLs and PIBs. Information is readily and graphically displayable which helps to increase the operational usability and potentially the ability to more readily spot quality issues.
  • Seamless – On-demand generation of Narrow Route, Standard Route, Aerodrome, and FIR Pre-flight Information Bulletins (PIBs). Supports System Wide Information Management thereby barriers between different systems are removed through common interfaces.
  • Discoverable – Powerful message search and reporting capabilities. Information can be searched and filtered using geographic information for location-based filtering, , and semantic filter for keyword-based filtering, and thereby help identify its relevance to a current or projected (i.e., in the future) operational situation
  • Accessible – Information is made available to all authenticated end users through standard compliant syntactic and semantic message checks, and distribute information to accommodate each end user’s needs.
  • Traceable – origin of every piece of information can be determined thereby permitting an assessment of, for example, the quality and reliability of information and whether it is from an accredited data source.
  • Support for the FPL 2012 format with an easy-to-use web interface.
  • Fully Redundant and Highly available infrastructure

Benefits

  • A modular set of applications ensure a customised and future-proofed solution based on international standards
  • The solution is built to fit in to the Air Traffic Management environment
  • Reduced life cycle cost (LCC) and less maintenance cost due to longer life time support and less different vendors
  • Reduction of potential operational difficulties and issues when migrating from AIS to AIM with expert support
  • High scalability - remote clients, national AIM solutions and regional AIM hubs
  • Full support over the whole project phase including implementation, training and data migration
  • Aeronautical data and information complies with international standards and exchange formats
  • Increase in trust in the information user community
  • Measurement and analysis of ATC controller's time spent at Controller Working Position (CWP)
  • Ensures legitimacy and reliability of the information by being traceable to the data originators
  • Improved safety, increased efficiency and greater cost-effectiveness overall to the air navigation services providers
